Bergström has more than 30 years of experience working in and around the pharmaceutical industry, including as the Director General for both the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and the Swedish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry. Notably, Richard Bergström was EU's chief negotiator for vaccine contracts during COVID-19.
